Dara was recently in the Philippines for the nationwide showing off her first Korean film “One Step.” The fans were apparently left dumbfounded and asking for more.

Dara’s debut movie recently made its entrance into the Philippine movie scene. As reported by Hello Kpop, the movie was widely received by her Filipino fans.

Of course, Dara’s solid Filipino fans were not absent during her mall shows and promotional activities in the country’s capital. Dara held 2 fan shows during the 6th and 7th of May.

This is not Dara’s first rodeo doing movies though. When she was still a rising star in the Philippines, Dara has already appeared in several movies.

Initially, Dara joined the country’s local talent search program titled “Star Circle Quest” in 2004. As the program drew to a conclusion, Dara won “Voter’s Choice Award” and as well as placing first in the contest.

“Star Circle Quest” grand winner was Hero Angeles. The actor was Dara’s first on-screen partner in the movie “Bcuz of U” also in 2004.

Dara’s first lead role was in the 2005 romantic-comedy movie “Can This Be Love” where she starred with Hero Angeles. The movie was a huge hit, garnering over 100 million pesos.

Furthermore, Dara also appeared several times on Philippine television. Overall, the 2NE1 member appeared on 8 television shows in the country.

Because of her popularity in the country, Dara has been hailed as the “Pambansang Krungkrung ng Pilipinas” or the Philippines’ Most Crazy Celebrity. “Crazy” in a good way though.

After she sacrificed her celebrity status in the country, Dara was still admired by her Filipino fans. Many still claim how Dara still has a special place in their hearts.

In other news, Dara was recently linked with Robi Domingo, a Filipino television host. The two were apparently seen dating in Korea by a fan.

This was however denied by the Dara, as reported by the Philippine news outlet ABS-CBN News. Dara added how they are good friends and does not want to ruin it because of some silly rumors.
