On July 4, Mnet’s “Idol School” responded to accusations that the program’s promotional video plagiarized a Japanese advertisement.
A source from the show commented, “This is a program with a school setting, and the locations in a school where lots of participants can dance together are limited to spots such as the field, classrooms, hallways, roof, and gymnasium,” and added that the water pouring down is a scene used often in media including movies.
They emphasized, “The similarities noticed are due to the spatial limitations of a school setting and the common filming techniques already used in various contents.”
