“Chocolate” will tell the story of Lee Kang (Yoon Kye Sang), a cold-hearted neurosurgeon, and Moon Cha Young (Ha Ji Won), a compassionate chef, as they reunite at a hospice ward and heal each other’s wounds through cooking.
In the newly-released poster, Yoon Kye Sang and Ha Ji Won sit side-by-side on a river bank as they stare into each other’s eyes. They share stories and drink late into the night, and their reflection in the water resembles a watercolor painting, adding to the romantic and warm atmosphere of the poster. The phrase, “The sweet comfort delivered to your life,” is written on the poster, amplifying expectations for a “healing” romance that will tap into viewers’ emotions.
Lee Kang is a handsome, intelligent doctor who begins to live a competitive lifestyle after realizing his uncertain fate. Moon Cha Young, a talented chef who comes from the world of international cooking competitions in Italy, is usually full of smiles and unlimited positive energy, but she does not hold back her anger when she witnesses injustice. Although they are two people from completely different worlds, they will become sources of comfort for each other.
The production crew stated, “Yoon Kye Sang and Ha Ji Won will be greeting viewers through this intensely emotional melodrama. The emotional synergy of the two actors who will melt over the delicate and warm story will resonate [with viewers].”
The drama will be a collaborative work by writer Lee Kyung Hee and producing director Lee Hyung Min, who previously worked together for the 2004 hit drama “I’m Sorry, I Love You.”
“Chocolate” premieres on November 29 at 10:50 p.m. KST as the follow-up to “My Country.”
